Letter of Recommendation.

We first came by Laprima on the internet. We had been over to Lanzarote in June 2004 and viewed a villa to buy as a holiday let. At this point we felt we needed advice with such a large investment.  We contacted Laprima who went to view the property and offered the opinion that it was not really suitable for our purposes. Armed with all the advice they gave us, we returned later that year and finally purchased a villa at Marina Rubicon.
Laprima’s advice and support from first contact to the present has been invaluable. They have helped us all the way including recommending an excellent Spanish lawyer, dealing with builders, purchasing furniture, advice on getting bookings … In fact - everything we have ever asked them for help with.!
Our first guests in the villa were so pleased with their stay they emailed us the day after their return to the UK to book again for next year.
We would recommend Laprima to anyone thinking of purchasing a property in Lanzarote. Their local knowledge is invaluable and their service is second to none. Laprima have been managing our property now for just over two years. They were recommended to us by another of their clients and we have never been disappointed. In the early days their help and advice was particularly useful in furnishing our property and getting it ready for rental, especially in relation to suppliers - anything from sofa throws to ironmongery!

Our guests have always been more than complimentary, expressing their appreciation as regards the property and the high standard to which it is maintained - which of course is largely down to Laprima. We have never had any complaints from our guests (except for the one about the wonky bed, and that's another story!).

There have been two occasions over the past two years when the property has not been prepared for arrival.  One of those was entirely down to our own inefficiency and Laprima worked wonders to rescue the situation to the guest's satisfaction - a bottle or two of wine always works wonders.

The other, just one of those 'breakdowns in the system' which cannot always be avoided.  Needless to say the matter was resolved promptly and no harm was done.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Laprima to other potential clients.  The value of having a 'safe pair of hands' nearby and on call, should the need arise, can not be underestimated.

Laprima have been looking after our house for about 18 months now. We did not realise how stress free our life could be, owning and renting a property abroad. Laprima are professional, knowledgeable, efficient and most importantly for us Client Focused. They are always there to help no matter what the problem, and they still manage a smile when contacted out of hours because a television cannt be switched on.!!!!!!

With the vast knowledge shared between them we have found ourselves passing more of our business matters and building/maintenance requirements to them for the satisfaction that they will dealt with smoothly and effectively.

To Whom It May Concern

Laprima's services were recommended to us by others who own property on the island when we purchased our first apartment some three years ago. Their performance on changeovers has been excellent, with a general good standard of housekeeping and cleanliness and attention to detail. This has been borne out by a number of positive comments in our visitors book over the years.

Guests have found the ability to contact fluent Spanish speaking English people should they have a problem (whether or not it is associated with their holiday accommodation) to be very reassuring.

We are fully satisfied with the performance of Laprima and had no hesitation in securing their services for our second apartment purchased this year.

Our experience of Laprima over the last 2 years is that it is a professionally run organisation and Trevor has a great knowledge of the way things happen on Lanzarote. This has been useful as things don't happen in the same way as in the UK and there are many unforseen pitfalls.

We have found that once a booking is made, or other services required, the system slips into action very smoothly. Special instructions are normally carried out without a hitch and we have had no adverse reports from renters regarding their performance. According to feedback from friends of ours in Playa B, their reliability is the norm. Yes, we have recommended Laprima and will continue to do so without reservation.

We bought our house in Playa Blanca in October 2002 and could not have done it without Laprima!! Having seen a property we liked and put down a small deposit in April 2002, we came home and surfed the web for someone who could help us through the purchasing process. We found Laprima. Trevor and Carol helped us through every step of the way and what could have been a minefield to two unsuspecting Brits became an easier and more relaxed purchase than we had ever made in the UK. During this period Laprima did not charge a penny but became our managing agents as soon as we had completed our purchase, and we were delighted to start paying them for the services they provide us. Being in England most of the time, we know that the property is looked after by the Johnsons and we would recommend them to anyone with property in Lanzarote. Dear Mr Irvine,

I believe from Trevor Johnson of La Prima Property Management in Lanzarote that you would appreciate a third-party opinion on his work. My wife and I have recently bought a flat in Puerto del Carmen. To be honest, I'm not sure how we would have got through the whole process without La Prima.

1. Trevor volunteered much useful info and good ideas by e-mail even in advance of any contractual agreement with him: always a good sign, I think. He also offered on-site advice on legal and financial matters on a one-day visit my wife undertook, again without obligation. The Spanish legal system can be complex and potentially hazardous; he helped remove stumbling blocks and our uncertainties.

2. Local knowledge and expertise. There is clearly no substitute for local knowledge, especially in unfamiliar (foreign) contexts. But Trevor not only has a wealth of official and informal knowledge born of years of working experience in Lanzarote: he also has a comprehensive network of reliable contacts among traders, craftsmen, etc.

3. As La Prima is a small family firm, personal accountability and personal service are assured. Apart from which, all family members are prompt, conscientious and open in approach, and cheerfully personable in manner.

Based on our experience over three months, including the trickiest period, of negotiation, purchase and moving in, we would recommend Trevor and his firm warmly and without any reservation. Not surprisingly, we were glad to sign up with him to manage and maintain the property on our behalf, including some initial renovations.

"Trevor, Carol, Laura and the team at LAPRIMA S.L. have looked after our apartment in Puerto del Carmen for over 10 years.
In addition to the weekly routine maintenance and cleaning, which is consistently carried out to a high standard, LAPRIMA has undertaken two major building projects (a new bathroom and large patio) which were started and finished on time - very rare in Lanzarote.
It is reassuring to know that the team respond and deal with problems and emergencies very quickly, which is good both for us as the property owner, but also for our guests who stay in our property throughout the year. Two examples would be when the team had to deal with a bad water leak, spending all Boxing day dealing with the problem and then more recently dealing with a serious flood caused by a problem in the property above. Trevor and the team not only attended to the extensive repair and replacement that was required quickly, but also dealt with the local insurance representative as the claim was being processed. This helped us to get back to business as soon as possible. Over the years they have given us help and advice on a range of different areas which has been appreciated.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Laprima to anyone seeking a property management company in Lanzarote.

During these years we have occasionally had to talk out differences regarding pricing or a labour charge, but the important thing is that they have always been willing to discuss and we have sorted things out to our mutual satisfaction. We know there are 'swings and roundabouts' in this sort of business and we have never left the island feeling anything but confident in their running of our apartment.

Additionally, it is good to have a fluent Spanish speaking manager who can take charge when things go wrong, as we found to our advantage when we were robbed of our luggage on arriving in Lanzarote some years ago. When things do go wrong, whether it be through illness, problems with Spanish authorities etc. I feel we have a very good manager to guide us through officialdom.
Finally, we have just had our apartment completely refurbished which included building, tiling, electrical and plumbing work as well as redecoration. This has been dealt with efficiently by Laprima and we feel we have had good value for Money"
