A three bedroomed house in Playa Blanca

This lovely house is brand new and the owners have only just furnished it and moved in.

As you can see though, there is almost nowhere to sit and relax outside, no privacy and no way of diverting our beloved Lanzarote wind!

At Laprima S.L., we pride ourselves in doing the job properly, not necessarily cheaply and certainly not in a hurry.

Our customers as well as the company have always found this to be the best value in the long term.

The job is high quality, lasts and requires no further attention.

In the next images, you will see what we mean.

Instead of just building a thin outer wall and infilling with rubble, we build a good, strong wall to the perimeter of the new patio and then further intermediate rows as shown.

The tops of these blocks are aligned accurately, to create a suitable fall for quickly shedding water when it rains (Oh yes it does).

The block walls form a 'cage' which will surround the new patio.

The sections mean that there will be no vast areas of concrete which can crack and\or subside.

These blocks are then hollowed out.

The hollowed out blocks are re-enforced with steel for strength.

The steel is also tied into the lateral rows of blocks so that the whole patio will have good integral strength.

Now we place a welded steel mat over the whole area.

This mat will keep each individual section from moving or sinking after the concrete has set into a slab.

The welded steel mat is also tied to the steel re-enforcing in the perimeter and lateral rows of blocks.

This way, the whole of the finished patio will be strong, ensuring that in the years to come, it will stay exactly where it is and none of the tiles will crack or become loose.

The next four images show the final preparation before the concrete is poured.

The walls to shield the wind can now be built.

At the same time, the tiles are being laid.

Here you can see that a very attractive 'insert' has been made which enhances the appearance of the large area.

It has the tiles in the centre of the border set diagonally.

The walls are now rendered and ready for painting.

This project is now complete.
